Imran Khan says that he cannot see; Aleema Khan

Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has told reporters that Khan “sent a message that he cannot see” and urgently needs access to his personal doctors.

Speaking at a protest near Adiala Jail with her sisters, Aleema said the family has still not been allowed to meet Khan.

She said Khan’s message to relatives stressed that he “cannot see properly”. She also repeated the family’s demand that his private doctors be permitted full access to examine and treat him.

According to reports, the protest was held to transfer Khan to a hospital rather than keeping him confined to jail medical facilities. 

Moreover, Aleema said the family does not trust official reports and will not believe any statements about his condition until independent examinations are conducted in the presence of his own physicians and family members.

Her sister Uzma Khan and other relatives have been vocal about concerns over Khan’s deteriorating health, particularly after reports of serious eye issues that may threaten his vision. 

International and local human-rights groups, as well as political allies, have also called for transparency and independent medical care.

However, authorities say necessary care is being provided, but tensions remain high as families continue their protests.
