Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has approached the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Committee against Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa’s presence in the benches to hear cases against him and his party members.

It was a repeating petition from former prime minister Imran Khan, which is likely to be discussed in the meeting of the Practice and Procedure Committee, set to be held on Monday (today) at 4:00pm.

“CJP Isa should not be a part of cases against me and anyone related to PTI,” requested the petition filed by Imran Khan’s counsel on Monday.

Previously, Imran Khan had filed the same request in July 2024.

Besides, the veteran politician’s plea, the review petition on article 63-A will also be a part of the discussion. The said article was interpreted on May 17, 2022, by a five-member larger bench of the Supreme Court.

Moreover, the meeting will also discuss the case of controversial audio leak case, pertaining to the audio leaks of former CJP Umar Bandial’s mother-in-law. The proceeding was stayed by Mr Bandial on May 26, 2023.

It is pertinent to mention here that CJP Faez Isa, upcoming CJP Mansoor Ali Shah, and Justice Aminuddin Khan were part of a three-member committee after the presidential ordinance.
