Missing child found begging outside mosque in Karachi after three months

A three-year-old boy who was kidnapped nearly three months ago from Shah Latif Town, Karachi, was unexpectedly found begging outside a mosque by his uncle.
According to the family, little Hussain had been missing since May 5, 2025. His uncle spotted him outside the mosque in Sector A-17 while leaving after prayers and immediately recognized him.
A suspicious man accompanying the child was detained by bystanders and handed over to the police.
Police confirmed that the suspect, identified as Shahryar, son of Mushtaq Hussain, has been taken into custody.
During the initial investigation, Shahryar claimed that the child had been handed over to him by his father-in-law, Sultan.

He was part of a child trafficking ring in the city, stating he earned Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 daily through begging.
A case had already been registered at the Shah Latif Town Police Station by the child’s family following the abduction. The accused has now been shifted to the same station for further investigation.
