Senior journalist Hamid Mir has claimed that India and Israel are now planning to attack Pakistan before October 2025.

Mir in Vlog, said it is no longer a secret that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu share a close strategic relationship. South African journalist Azad Essa, author of Hostile Homelands, argues that this growing alliance is rooted in ideological alignment—Zionism and Hindutva—and a shared hostility toward Muslim populations.

Essa, who has closely observed both the Indian Army’s operations in Kashmir and the Israeli military’s actions in the occupied Palestinian territories, views this partnership as a convergence of two nationalist ideologies, not just two political leaders.

Strategic calculations and growing tensions

Following its military setbacks in May 2025, India has quietly escalated its arms purchases from Israel and other Western nations. Modi’s 2017 visit to Israel—the first ever by an Indian prime minister—marked a significant milestone in this partnership.

Many Hindu nationalists have since advocated for implementing “Israel-style” solutions in Kashmir, including demographic changes aimed at altering its Muslim-majority identity.

Provocative statements and emerging threats

Amid the war, a controversial post on X (formerly Twitter) by Israeli Professor Meir Masri, Director of Geopolitics at Hebrew University and former Deputy Minister of Defense, drew attention.

On June 18, Masri wrote in Arabic: “After Iran’s campaign, we may seek to dismantle Pakistan’s nuclear programme.” This provocative statement echoed widely among Indian social media users, with multiple accounts promoting the idea under the banner of “Operation Sindoor”—a supposed plan to “denuclearise Pakistan.”

These sentiments were not limited to social media. On June 24, 2025, the European think tank website Modern Diplomacy published an article by Dr. Julian Spencer-Churchill, a professor of international politics at Concordia University, titled Once Israel Defeats Iran, Pakistan is Next.

Strategic miscalculations?

While India and Israel may be crafting ambitious military plans against Pakistan, they must understand that Pakistan is not Gaza, Lebanon, or even Iran.

Any miscalculation could lead to consequences far graver than expected. Prime Minister Modi, increasingly dubbed “Surrender Modi” after the May 2025 defeat, may seek a military distraction before the upcoming Bihar elections in October.

The Pakistan Air Force has already demonstrated its capability by downing seven Indian fighter jets—including four Rafale aircraft—in the recent conflict.

Pakistan’s air defense systems have proven to be more resilient and capable than those of Iran, and its Shaheen-III ballistic missiles, with a range of 2,750 kilometers, serve as a powerful deterrent against any regional misadventure.

In supporting Israel's actions in Gaza and turning a blind eye to the humanitarian crisis, India has alienated not just Pakistan but many across the Muslim world. Even senior Kashmiri leaders like Farooq Abdullah have warned that if the Kashmir issue is not resolved through dialogue, it could become “another Gaza.”
