Karachi: In light of security issues, Karachi Airport and its adjacent areas have been declared Red Zone.
As per details, the move has been taken following the attack on Chinese nationals near Karachi airport. Access routes leading to the airport have been restricted, allowing entry only to those traveling to or from the airport or individuals fulfilling their professional duties there.
The vicinity around the airport has been marked as a Red Zone to enhance safety measures.
SSP Malir Kashif Aftab Abbasi mentioned that five critical areas near the airport—Star Gate, CAA Club, Madam Bridge, Model Colony Mor, and the Rangers checkpoint near the funeral area—have been established as police checkpoints, with law enforcement personnel stationed around the clock.
SSP Malir has urged all travelers to the airport to arrive well ahead of their scheduled flight to facilitate smooth security checks and prevent delays.
He also recommended that residents from M-9 Motorway, Malir Cantt, Memon Goth, Model Colony, and adjacent areas refrain from traveling through the Red Zone.
Passengers coming from Drug Road who are heading towards Malir Cantt or Model Colony have been advised to take Malir Halt Road instead of Star Gate or CAA Club Road.
SSP Malir stressed that everyone going to the airport should have their flight tickets and national ID cards ready for quicker security checks. He assured travelers that their safety and secure journey is the primary focus of the police.
The District Malir Police remains committed to ensuring public safety and order and will provide assistance in case of any challenges or concerns.
