An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Thursday formally framed charges against Armaghan Kamran and his friend Sheraz in the high-profile murder case of Mustafa Amir.
Amir, 23, was allegedly abducted and killed by the two men on January 6, 2025, in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA). According to police, the accused placed Amir’s body in the trunk of a car and set it on fire in the Hub area of Balochistan.
Both accused denied the charges during the court proceedings. The ATC then summoned witnesses to record their statements and adjourned the hearing until March 12.
A final charge sheet against Armaghan was previously submitted in August 2025. The Investigating Officer, Muhammad Ali, stated that the victim and the suspects were last traced to Armaghan’s residence in DHA, Karachi.
Blood samples collected from the house were reportedly matched with the remains found in the car.
The police also recovered CCTV footage allegedly showing the suspects cleaning bloodstains from a carpet at the DHA residence.
