The letter to the Karachi police chief stated that Onijah arrived in Pakistan to meet her online friend, who reportedly refued to marry her and feld his home.  As a result, she was left unattended and roamed around the city.

Robinson, 33, landed in Karachi in mid-October to marry 19-year-old Nidal Memon, a young man from Karachi , after an online romance.  Nidal allegedly abandoned her after her arrival due to his family's refusal to their marriage. He is now untraceable.

Following a 30-hour protest at Nidal’s residence, she moved to a guest house. However, the guest house management refused to accomodate her, prompting police to hand over Robinson to philanthropist Ramzan Chippa.

The letter further stated that as the matter gained public attention, US woman's interactions with strangers heightened risks to her security.

Sindh police intervened to handle the situation and the her ordeal highlighted the need for “urgent medical” assistance for her psychological condition.

She is currently under the supervision of medical experts.

The letter stated that, given these circumstances, the police were seeking guidance from the federal government regarding the continuation of her medical treatment and the initiation of deportation proceedings.
