Karachi's 'feels like' temperature reaches 51°C today

The residents of the port city are experiencing an increase in summer heat with the feel-like temperature fluctuating between 50 to 51 degrees Celsius.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), weather in Karachi will likely remain hot and humid during the next 24 hours with maximum temperature will be between 35°C to 37°C.
Met office predicted that heatwave conditions will develop over most parts of the country, especially Punjab and Sindh, from May 21.
"And likely to convert to severe heatwave conditions from May 23rd to May 27th," it added.
However, the feels-like temperature in Karachi has been recorded at 50-51°C with the humidity level reaching 71%, as per a private weather station.

Earlier in the day, weather analyst Jawad Memon predicted that the temperature in the metropolis could reach up to 36-37°C.
"While feels like temps can reach up to 40-43°C in northern and central areas whereas 46-49°C nearby sea facing areas," he added in the statement issued on his X handle Weather Updates PK.

He advised the Karachiites to strictly follow all precautionary measures and drink plenty of water.
