Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has spoken out amid escalating tensions along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, stressing that safeguarding the country’s territory remains a foremost obligation.
Describing the situation as concerning, Afridi said the provincial authorities are closely monitoring developments and remain on high alert.
He asserted that the protection of Pakistan’s territorial integrity is a shared national responsibility and made it clear that no threat to border security would be tolerated.
The chief minister strongly condemned any form of provocation or cross-border aggression, reiterating that national security is non-negotiable.
He added that the provincial government is working in close coordination with relevant institutions to ensure stability and safety in the affected districts.
Afridi emphasised that residents of border areas are the government’s top priority.
He assured citizens that concrete measures are being taken to safeguard lives and property, while acknowledging the unease among local communities.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, he said those living along the frontier would not be left unsupported under any circumstances.
He also directed officials to remain prepared to respond swiftly to any emergency, noting that a measured and responsible approach is essential to maintaining peace and stability.
