Lahore police have decided to conduct a polygraph test of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) in connection with alleged sexual assault of a girl at the Ghaziabad police station.

Citing police sources, media reports said that a polygraph test of the suspect, who is in custody in connection with the case, will be conducted. The alleged victim has also undergone a psychiatric assessment.

They said that the psychiatric assessment report of the girl is expected to be received on August 18. According to the police, the cop maintains that he had brought the girl to the police station to stop her from begging. He denies sexually assaulting her, saying he fed her in a room, counselled her and later sent her back.

Police officials said that the initial medical report contained ambiguities regarding whether the girl had been sexually assaulted. The Punjab Forensic Science Agency report is expected to provide further clarity, they added.

The reports said that the girl had undergone additional tests and their reports were still awaited.
