Mayor Karachi visits family of child died in NIPA manhole

Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, visited the home of Ibrahim, the child who tragically died in the NIPA manhole incident.
The minor boy lost his life after falling into an open manhole outside a departmental store on Sunday night.
He expressed deep sorrow and condolences to Ibrahim’s family.
Mayor Murtaza Wahab assured that an impartial investigation into the incident will be conducted.
He further stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found responsible for negligence in the incident.
The mayor also asserted that organized measures will be implemented in the future to prevent such incidents.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered the suspension of all officials responsible for the death of a three-year-old boy, who died after falling into an open manhole near Nipa Chowrangi.
The directive came in a high-level meeting chaired by the chief minister to discuss the incident. It was attended by provincial ministers, officials of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), town administration, revenue department, and police.
Expressing his grief over the tragedy, CM Shah said: “We are deeply saddened by the child’s death. Strict action must be taken against anyone found negligent. It is regrettable to shift blame onto each other.”
