Young maid Rizwana discharged from hospital

Rizwana, a victim of domestic violence, was discharged from the hospital and handed over to the Child Protection Bureau in Lahore on Tuesday.

The victim was employed in the house of former civil judge Asim, where she was allegedly subjected to severe torture, and when her condition worsened the wife of Asim handed the girl to her mother.

Previously, a video was released by the administration of the hospital, where she was undergoing treatment for the last five months. In the video, she was seen walking without any support.

On Tuesday, Rizwana was discharged from the General Hospital and handed over to Child Protection Bureau Chairperson Sarah Ahmed.

Talking to the media after recovery, Rizwana said "I am very happy, everyone took good care of me, I was not well at first, but the doctors and nurses took good care of me."

Rizwana’s medical report stated that, due to lack of timely treatment, her wounds were infected with worms, the girl had 15 injury marks on her body including her head, and her internal organs were also affected.

The victim further demanded justice.
