A National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) official on Tuesday informed a sessions court that PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar had been found guilty following an investigation into harassment allegations made by actor Momina Iqbal.

The development came during the hearing of pre-arrest bail petitions filed by Chadhar and his wife before Additional District and Sessions Judge Nusrat Ali Siddiqui. Both appeared in court after the expiry of their previous interim pre-arrest bail.

NCCIA Lahore Station House Officer Najam Bajwa told the court that the investigation against Chadhar had been completed and that the allegations levelled by Iqbal had been substantiated. He further informed the court that Chadhar's wife had surrendered her mobile phone to the agency two days earlier and that the device had been sent for forensic examination.

Counsel for Iqbal requested the court to dismiss the suspects' bail applications, arguing that their release on bail could pose a threat to his client.

After hearing both sides, the court extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Chadhar and his wife until September 3 and directed the parties to present their final arguments at the next hearing.

The case was registered by the NCCIA after Iqbal accused the ruling party lawmaker of online harassment, cyberbullying and issuing death threats. The allegations remain the subject of ongoing legal proceedings.
