Significant developments have emerged in the Mustafa Amir murder case, according to the Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC).

Police revealed that the day after Mustafa was burned inside his car, the accused Armaghan boarded a flight to Islamabad and then traveled to Skardu.

Later, the second suspect, Shiraz, also traveled from Karachi, first reaching Lahore, then Islamabad, and finally Skardu.

Police stated that both suspects stayed in Skardu, closely monitoring news from Karachi to assess if they had become suspects.

On January 28, Shiraz returned to Karachi and urged Armaghan to come back. Subsequently, on February 5, Armaghan also returned to Karachi.

Despite raiding the suspect’s bungalow in Defence and arresting him, the police failed to extract a confession. Later, with the assistance of federal intelligence agencies and CPLC, Armaghan’s two employees identified Shiraz’s brother, leading to his detention.

Following his brother’s interrogation, Shiraz was apprehended from Gulistan-e-Jauhar.

During interrogation, Shiraz confessed to the crime and provided details of the incident.

According to Shiraz, on the night of January 6, Armaghan and Mustafa were having a conversation that turned heated, causing Armaghan to lose his temper.

In a fit of rage, Armaghan struck Mustafa with an iron rod, injuring him.

Armaghan then picked up a rifle and shot Mustafa. Subsequently, Armaghan and Shiraz taped Mustafa’s hands, feet, and mouth before placing him in the car’s trunk—Mustafa was still alive at the time.

The suspects drove Mustafa’s car out of the bungalow. Before leaving, Armaghan filled a can with petrol from his home generator and placed it on the car’s back seat.

Armaghan was driving as they traveled through Mauripur and reached Hub via the RCD Highway.

Upon seeing a police station and officers on the roadside near Hub, Armaghan, fearing detection, turned the car around and drove off-road.

Concerned that their fingerprints might be found on the vehicle, Armaghan and Shiraz opened the car’s bonnet, poured petrol over the engine and tires, and set the car on fire—Mustafa was still alive inside the trunk.

After burning the car, the suspects fled on foot toward Karachi. The road was deserted, and they walked for three hours.

They eventually came across a roadside hotel near a petrol pump, where they ate a meal. The hotel staff informed them that a bus to Karachi would depart at 8 AM.

The suspects slept at a mosque adjacent to the hotel. When the bus failed to arrive in the morning, they paid a Suzuki driver 2,000 rupees to drop them at 4K Chowrangi. From there, they used a rickshaw and an online taxi service to return home.
