Over 24 million Iftar meals distributed at Two Holy Mosques this Ramadan

During the blessed month of Ramadan, more than 24 million Iftar meals were distributed among worshippers at the Two Holy Mosques in Makkah and Madinah, ensuring a healthy and hassle-free environment for visitors at the sacred sites.
Muslims fast daily from dawn till sunset throughout Ramadan, dedicating their time to prayer, worship, and supplication to make the most of the spiritual blessings of this holy lunar month.
Saudi authorities made exceptional arrangements for the millions of pilgrims who flocked to Makkah to perform Umrah and fulfill their religious obligations in a peaceful and spiritually uplifting atmosphere facilitated by the Kingdom.
This Ramadan witnessed a historic turnout of over 122 million pilgrims at the Two Holy Mosques, around 92.1 million at the Grand Mosque in Makkah and 30.1 million at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

A record 800,000 worshippers gathered at the Grand Mosque on the 26th night of Ramadan, widely believed to coincide with Laylat-ul-Qadr, the sacred Night of Power.
Authorities implemented extensive arrangements to manage the massive crowds, ensuring a smooth, safe, and serene worship experience at both sacred sites.
The Mataf (circumambulation area) around the Holy Kaaba was specially prepared to accommodate 107,000 pilgrims per hour, allowing uninterrupted movement during rituals.
To facilitate worshippers, 428 escalators, 28 elevators, and a modern audio system with 1,300 speakers were installed. Additionally, effective medical services were provided in the courtyards to assist pilgrims in need.

For climate control, power sources with a cooling capacity of up to 90,000 tons were deployed to keep the Grand Mosque comfortable amid the overwhelming number of visitors.
