ISLAMABAD: The Saudi oil giant Aramco has clarified that the water bottles it distributed throughout Ramadan were not Zam Zam water but were filled at a plant in Sheikhupura, Punjab.
The clarification came after the company gained praise for providing free water bottles and dates at its fuel stations during the holy month.
While many people appreciated the gesture, some later noticed that the bottles were labeled as "Bottled Drinking Water" from Sheikhupura.
This led to disappointment among some consumers who felt misled and urged Aramco to ensure clear labeling to prevent any future misunderstandings.

Saudi Arabia’s oil giant, Aramco, marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its first branded gas station in Pakistan’s eastern city of Lahore near famous Liberty Chowk, in collaboration with Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. (GO), last year.
The launch follows Aramco’s recent acquisition of a 40% stake in GO, one of Pakistan’s leading petroleum marketing companies, and highlights a new era in Pakistan’s fuel industry where premium fuel quality and top-tier services are set to become pivotal as energy demands rise across the country.
