PAF chief reportedly gets one-year extension

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reportedly granted Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu a one-year extension in his job tenure on Sunday.
The prime minister has forwarded the summary of the extension to President Asif Ali Zardari, and an official notification will be issued upon the president's approval.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Babar Sidhu holds the rank of a four-star Air Force officer and serves as the 16th Chief of Air Staff. His current term is set to conclude tomorrow, leading to discussions within government circles regarding the potential extension of his tenure.
Having assumed command of the Air Force on March 19, 2021, succeeding ACM Mujahid Anwar Khan, Zaheer Babar Sidhu has played a pivotal role in leading the Air Force.
Notably, Air Chief Zaheer Babar recently met with the newly elected Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to discuss various matters of national significance.
