The government of Pakistan has announced a new fee structure for passports, which includes e-passports, machine-readable passports (MRPs), and replacement passports for those that are lost or stolen.

The updated fee schedule outlines distinct charges for varying passport types. A 36-page e-passport valid for 5 years will have a regular fee of Rs3,000, while the urgent fee will be Rs15,000.

For a 75-page e-passport, the standard fee is set at Rs15,500, with an urgent fee of Rs27,000 for a validity period of 10 years.

For machine-readable passports (MRPs), the fee structure is as follows: a 36-page MRP valid for 5 years will cost Rs4,500 for normal processing and Rs7,500 for urgent processing.

A fast-track service for MRPs will be priced at Rs13,500. For a 72-page MRP valid for 10 years, the normal fee is Rs6,700, while the urgent fee is Rs11,200.

For the same passport type, the fast-track fee will be Rs16,200.

A 100-page MRP valid for 5 years will have a normal fee of Rs9,000, with the urgent fee at Rs18,000, and the fast-track service costing Rs23,000.

For a 10-year MRP, the regular fee for 100 pages will be Rs13,500, the urgent fee will be Rs17,000, and the fast-track fee will be Rs32,000.

Furthermore, the government has implemented a separate fee schedule for lost passports. The fee for the first loss will be Rs54,000, while for the third loss, it will rise to Rs356,000.
