The Foreign Office (FO) on Saturday reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the implementation of the recently agreed ceasefire with India, responding to allegations of violations made by Indian authorities.
In a statement issued in response to media queries, the FO spokesperson said, “Pakistan remains committed to the faithful implementation of the ceasefire between Pakistan and India, announced earlier today.”
The spokesperson added that despite violations allegedly committed by Indian forces in certain areas, Pakistani security forces are responding with “responsibility and restraint.”
The FO emphasised that any challenges to the implementation of the ceasefire should be addressed through appropriate communication channels.
“The troops on the ground should also exercise restraint,” the spokesperson noted.
Separately, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar rejected Indian media reports suggesting that Pakistan had violated the ceasefire.
Speaking to private news channel , he called the allegations “baseless” and said Pakistan had neither committed nor considered violating the agreement.
“This is a moment of celebration for Pakistan. The people are rejoicing as this is a diplomatic and military success,” Tarar said, adding that Indian officials were attempting to externalize their internal issues.
