After a ceasefire between Pakistan and India and a general improvement in regional conditions, airspace was fully restored for all commercial flights; however, air travel faced major disruptions on Sunday, with 150 flights cancelled nationwide.

According to airport sources, the cancellations were due to operational reasons, and a large portion of them affected international travel.

A total of 138 out of the 150 cancelled flights were international, while several others remain in an uncertain status pending further updates.

Karachi Airport witnessed the highest number of cancellations, with 45 flights scrapped. Lahore followed with 38, Islamabad with 40, Multan with 10, Peshawar with 11, and Sialkot with 6.

Aviation authorities have not provided a detailed explanation beyond citing "operational reasons," leading to confusion among passengers, especially those travelling abroad.

Airlines are reportedly working to reschedule affected flights, but no official timeline has been given.

Travellers are advised to check with their respective airlines before heading to the airport.

The disruption follows an earlier notification issued by the Pakistan Airport Authority, which, in light of the prevailing volatile situation, had announced the closure of the country’s airspace to all flight operations until 12:00 pm on May 11. The decision was made as a precautionary measure, affecting both domestic and international air traffic.
