Pakistani politician celebrates Independence Day by distributing 'free petrol' to bikers

A renowned Pakistani politician marked the country's 77th Independence Day in a unique way by distributing free petrol to motorcyclists.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, gave away 5 litres of petrol to over 10,000 motorcyclists each.
The event, held from 9am to 8pm on August 14, was pre-announced by the minister, who stated that bikers waving the Pakistani flag would receive free fuel.
In addition to the motorcyclists, over 5,000 rickshaw drivers will also receive 5 liters of free petrol each on August 15 (today).
The initiative aims to bring joy and relief to the citizens on the occasion of Independence Day.
During the event, Sheikh shared good news with the people, announcing that the government intends to reduce electricity prices.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmaker also said that PM Shehbaz-led setup will provide free electricity to consumers using 200 units per month.
He also pledged to bear all expenses for any child from his constituency in Chiniot who gains admission to a college or university on merit.
