Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued an advisory that warned of potential heat waves, heavy rains, and thunderstorms in Punjab.
The authority predicted that the province is likely to witness an increase in temperature from May 8 to 10, with the mercury expected to go up by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius across Punjab.
However, dusty winds and rain accompanied by thunderstorms are likely to occur in several parts of the province.
A spokesperson of PDMA said that in view of potential heavy rain in several parts of South Punjab, the authority has issued an alert to the district administrations.
He added the atmosphere in southern parts of the country may lead to a heat wave.
"The weather condition likely to prevail in the plain areas," the spokesperson cautioned.
Irfan Ali Kathia, Director General PDMA, expressed fears about the ready-to-cutting crops and said it would be damaged by the storm.
He advised people to remain careful during severe weather conditions, during which the intensity of heat and cold might increase.
On the other hand, the Pakistan Meteorologist Department (PMD) predicted another spell of rain in Balochistan on May 10 and 11, which would have an impact on Sindh as well.
According to weatherman Sardar Sarfaraz, Jaccobabad, Gotki, Dadu, and several parts of Sindh are anticipated to receive rain, while no downpours were predicted in Karachi.
