PIA launches air-to-rail travel in partnership with rail networks in Canada, UK

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) launched an air-to-rail partnership with rail networks in Canada and the UK, enabling passengers to continue their journey by train on a single ticket after completing their flight.

Under the initiative, passengers arriving in Toronto can connect to eight major Canadian cities by rail, while travellers flying to London and Manchester will have rail access to more than 50 destinations across the UK.

PIA said passengers can book rail tickets together with air tickets through its booking offices, registered travel agents, official website and mobile app, removing the need for separate train reservations.

The move follows PIA’s resumption of UK flights after years-long bans and comes months after a consortium led by Arif Habib Corporation acquired a 75% stake in the airline during its privatisation in December 2025.
