Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has announced the launch of direct flights from Lahore to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, aiming to strengthen tourism and trade ties between the two nations.

According to details, the national flag carrier will operate two weekly flights on this route—every Wednesday and Saturday.

A special event was organized for travel agents and tour operators to introduce the new service and highlight its advantages.

This move comes shortly after PIA announced similar direct flights from Karachi to Baku. Both services have received approval from Azerbaijan’s Civil Aviation Authority.

The inaugural Karachi-Baku flight took off from Jinnah International Airport on March 16, followed by the Lahore-Baku service departing from Allama Iqbal International Airport on March 19.

Azerbaijan, increasingly popular among Pakistani tourists, offers a blend of historical landmarks, modern attractions, and scenic beauty. Baku’s appeal lies in its UNESCO-listed Old City, the iconic Flame Towers, and the Caspian Sea Boulevard.
