Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on Monday for a one-day official visit, during which he will address officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy and commend their role in safeguarding national security.

Upon arrival at Karachi Airport, the Prime Minister was received by Federal Minister for Education Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. 

He was accompanied by Federal Minister for Defence Khawaja Asif, Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar.

As part of his visit, Prime Minister Sharif will tour the Pakistan Navy Dockyard, where he is scheduled to meet officers and sailors, particularly those who participated in Operation Banyanum Marsoos.

He will pay tribute to the Navy’s professionalism and its crucial efforts in thwarting the aggressive designs of the Indian Navy.

The Prime Minister stated that the courage and vigilance demonstrated by Pakistan’s naval forces reflect the country’s unwavering resolve to defend its sovereignty at all costs.

Sources also confirmed that during his stay, the Prime Minister will hold meetings with the Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and the Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to discuss matters of provincial and national importance.

Although the Pakistan-India conflict did not extend to confrontations along their maritime borders, but, Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz became an internet sensation after calling himself the “silent guy” during a press conference by Pakistan's Armed Forces on May 11.
