PM Sharif calls for immediate ceasefire in Gaza at Islamic Summit

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, saying that Israel has crossed all limits of aggression there.

Thousands have been martyred, and millions forced to leave their homes, making the humanitarian crisis far worse than anyone had anticipated.

He made this statement when he addressed the Summit of Leaders of Islamic Countries in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He started his speech with a verse from the Quran and underlined the grave necessity of a ceasefire in Gaza as Israel has overstepped all limits of aggression.

Thousands have been martyred and millions are homeless. Hunger, poverty, and famine have gripped Gaza.

This man said that the International Court of Justice had given its verdict on Gaza long ago, but Israel is shamelessly violating international laws and principles.

Thus, an immediate ceasefire is the utmost need. Israel is using its blockade on the humanitarian aid of Gaza as a weapon of war and the international community should unite to continue to send aid to these defenseless Palestinian people.

He said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza is also worse than expected and Pakistan will continue to raise its voice for the rights of the Palestinian people. Hospitals are being destroyed in Gaza, and for the first time, there is an imperative to create an independent and sovereign Palestinian state.

Palestinian state should be established along the borders before 1967, he said. Israel expansionist activities are causing a threat to regional peace and may force the region to enter a significant war.

Shahbaz Sharif condemned strongly Israeli attacks on Iran and appreciated Saudi leadership for bringing the meeting together.
