Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif felicitated the nation on Thursday over the historical hit of 100,000 points in the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), which he described as a positive reflection of the government’s policies towards the business community.
Premier appreciated the economic team’s efforts in attracting investment into the country as he had promised the nation that he would take every possible step for the country's economic stability and development.
“We sacrificed our politics to prevent the country from default,” said the prime minister while expressing gratitude towards God, saying, “The sacrifices have not gone in vain.”
He recalled the outcomes of the government’s efforts that were made in cutting inflation and monetary policy rates, and the recorded increase has been seen in remittances.
“Our efforts towards the country’s development will continue, as enemies are making unsuccessful attempts to derail the country,” said Premier Shehbaz Sharif, and pledged that they “would not be successful.”
Premier’s statement came as the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), with bullish momentum, went beyond 100,000 points in the benchmark KSE-100 index early in the morning of the fourth day of the commercial week.
PSX, which stood at 1,000 points in the late 1990s, has now reached the 100,000-point milestone, reflecting a 100-fold increase over 25 years. This historic growth showcases renewed investor confidence despite prevailing challenges.
