PMLN leaders reject rumours of Maryam’s cancer diagnosis

There is growing speculation about Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif's health, with rumours that she may have been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.

Recently, Ms. Sharif traveled to Geneva for treatment related to her throat, accompanied by her father, Nawaz Sharif, and senior PML-N official Maryam Aurangzeb. This journey has led to extensive speculation on social media platforms.

Well-known journalist Mansoor Ali Khan asserted that her visit was not for a routine check-up, but rather due to a cancer diagnosis.

Nevertheless, leaders from PML-N have labeled these rumors as unfounded.

This is not the first instance of Ms. Sharif seeking treatment in Geneva for throat-related problems. During the former PML-N administration in 2023, she underwent throat surgery in that location.

Reports suggest that she had visited Sharif Medical Hospital in Pakistan prior to her journey to Geneva.

There are also assertions that her health declined abruptly, which led to her urgent trip abroad, and that a thyroid examination conducted two years ago indicated the presence of potentially cancerous cells. Further results from tests are anticipated in the upcoming days.
