The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) have joined hands to form a coalition government in federal as four ministries are likely to be handed over to the MQM, sources said on Wednesday.

According to sources, the ministries of health, information technology,  Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, and port and shipping are likely to be offered to the MQM in exchange for backing PML-N in centre.

MQM-P, who had tied the electoral knot with PML-N, will also be given one state minister post and an advisor slot, sources added.

Talking to media after striking coalition with PML-N, MQM-P covener Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said that no interest could be greater than serving Pakistan for any party at the moment.

“With mutual cooperation, we will strengthen democracy and support Mian Shehbaz Sharif. We have supported him before and will do so in future,” he said while speaking at PML-Q's chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain's residence in Islamabad.

However, sources said, MQM-P has decided not to join the federal cabinet until the constitutional amendments they had suggested.

A day earlier, six political parties, including PML-N, PPP, MQM-P, PML-Q, IPP, and BAP, announced forming a coalition government to 'steer the country out of the prevailing crises'.
