Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Sheherbano Naqvi stated that no medical records of a female rape victim were found at either the government or private hospital in Lahore, where she was rumoured to be admitted following the alleged assault.
Previously, ASP Sheherbano recorded a video statement on Monday alongside the victim’s father and uncle, describing the incident as “propaganda” and “misinformation.”
On Tuesday, Punjab Police shared another video of ASP Sheherbano on the microblogging platform X, where she clarified that reports of the female rape victim being treated at a private hospital were false.
“We heard that a student of a private college who was allegedly raped had been taken to a private hospital. In the government hospital we are in, we not only checked the records of this hospital but also checked the records of the private hospital,” she said.
She cotninued, “Police found no record of a rape victim being admitted at either the government or private hospital.”

“Interestingly, the private hospital being named does not handle medico-legal cases, and even in its emergency department, no such case was dealt with,” ASP Sheherbano revealed.
“After checking all the floors of this hospital, it was confirmed that the alleged victim did not visit this private hospital,” she added.
ASP reiterated that the incident stemmed from the spread of misinformation and urged students to “not jeopardise the future of the nation.”
The news of the alleged rape went viral on social media, with various accounts claiming that a security sexually assaulted a fist year intermediate student in the basement of Punjab College Campus 10 in Lahore’s Gulberg area.
The incident reportedly occurred a week ago, but the victim's family did not come forward to report the heinous crime, police said.
Students intensified their demands for the arrest of the guard, who went into hiding following the incident. According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, the police apprehended him outside Lahore.
Speaking to the media on Monday, DIG Kamran said no records of the female student had been found in four to five private hospitals, and the security guard, now in custody, denied the allegations.
Kamran also asserted that no evidence had been recovered from the college's CCTV footage and urged students not to believe rumours.
He stated that anyone with information regarding the incident could come forward and cooperate with the police investigation.
