A young Pakistani footballer, Amanullah Rauf Baloch, from Karachi’s Lyari area, has gone missing in Oslo, Norway during the prestigious Norway Cup 2025.

The teenage player, representing Muslim Hands FC, reportedly vanished on the tournament's opening day and did not return with the squad after Pakistan’s impressive performance.

This incident echoes a troubling pattern—just months ago, two Pakistani athletes disappeared during the World University Games in Germany, raising concerns about sports figures overstaying visas or seeking asylum abroad.

Despite the unsettling news, Pakistan’s U-15 team, Better Future Pakistan, delivered a spectacular performance in the tournament, clinching the Norway Cup title.

The young Green Shirts triumphed 2-0 in the final against Norwegian club Gjovik Lyn, with goals from Ahmed Ali and Owais sealing the historic win.

The team remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning all nine of their matches. Their sportsmanship was also recognized—they were named Best Fair Play Team, earning an impressive 16 Green Cards for clean play.

In the run-up to the final, Pakistan outclassed Greaker IF (4-2) on August 1 and cruised past Gjelleråsen (4-1) in the playoffs, showcasing talent, discipline, and tactical brilliance.

Authorities in Norway, in coordination with the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) and Muslim Hands, are currently investigating Amanullah’s disappearance. The incident has prompted renewed calls for tighter monitoring of athletes traveling abroad for international events.
