The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has warned that water supply to several areas of the city may be affected after a power failure at the Dhabeji pumping station.

According to a KWSC spokesperson, the outage occurred at around 8:45am in the station's third phase, cutting electricity to the facility and forcing three pumping units to shut down.

The corporation said the disruption could reduce the city's water supply by around 75 million gallons per day, affecting water transmission to different parts of Karachi.

Areas likely to face shortages include North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, Gulberg Town, New Karachi, Landhi, Korangi and Scheme 33.

The spokesperson said KWSC is coordinating with K-Electric to restore power and resume normal operations as soon as possible.
