Law enforcement authorities in the Swat region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have apprehended a man accused of impersonating both an army and a police officer.
The individual, identified as Fazil, had allegedly been deceiving locals by adopting fake identities and ranks.
According to the police, Fazil, hailing from the Buner district, had been successfully masquerading as a high-ranking official for an extended period. Reports suggest that he had gained the trust of many by presenting himself as an authority figure, leveraging his false status for personal benefit.
Adding to his facade, Fazil was seen driving a Vigo vehicle, a type typically associated with official use, which further enhanced his illusion of legitimacy. It is also reported that he enjoyed a level of protocol and respect in the region, which he exploited to further his fraudulent activities.
Police are now investigating the extent of his deception, including how he managed to operate under these false identities and the potential individuals or groups that may have fallen victim to his schemes.
Authorities are also looking into whether he had any accomplices aiding in his elaborate fraud.
