PTI announces to hold rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced plans to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5, aimed at mobilising support for the release of the party’s incarcerated founding chairman, Imran Khan.

PTI Lahore President Sheikh Imtiaz submitted a formal request to the Deputy Commissioner Lahore seeking permission for the gathering.

The party stated in the application that the objective of the rally is to highlight public sentiment regarding Imran Khan’s imprisonment.

The proposed rally is part of the party’s continued political campaign following a series of legal and political setbacks since Khan’s arrest. PTI leaders maintain that peaceful political mobilisation is their democratic right.

Authorities have yet to respond to the request.
