Incarcerated former prime minister Imran Khan has decided to write to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to audit election results before okaying a second review under SBA program.
"PTI has decided to write a letter on the directives of Imran Khan," said Barrister Ali Zafar while addressing a presser with acting chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan
PTI founder’s legal team told about the party’s demands before the second review, he said, “Prior to a fresh agreement an audit team should review the election results of those constituencies where tempering has been reported.”
[…] and the audit team should consist of independent members instead of the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) members and would be appreciated if would be formed on the direction of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, he said.
“If the IMF takes any step without audit it could be harmful for Pakistan,” Zafar added.
Imran’s lawyer said that no lender could give a loan to that country where the mandate of the public has been 'stolen'.
“A government form without people’s mandate would remain failed to return loans, develop the country, and address the crises the country is facing,” Zafar stated.
