ISLAMABAD: Differences between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretary General Salman Akram Raja and Mashal Yousafzai have intensified following allegations of ticket selling, according to a report.
Responding to allegations levelled by Mashal Yousafzai, Salman Akram Raja said that those who could not afford even a small amount to fight a legal case had resorted to making “baseless and disgraceful allegations.” He also questioned Mashal’s claim to have been made a senator, saying he did not know who had facilitated her appointment.
Raja said the relevant instructions had come from PTI founder Imran Khan, adding that he did not have the authority to remove Mashal Yousafzai from the Senate.
He further claimed that Mashal had been spared from expulsion from the party as an act of leniency.
Meanwhile, Mashal Yousafzai alleged that Salman Akram Raja had apologised to the PTI founder on one occasion but had resumed making public statements against her.
“If Salman Akram has the authority to expel me from the party, let him try,” she said.
PTI worker Shandana Gulzar also criticised Salman Akram Raja, alleging that he had made an incorrect statement regarding money.
“Who took the millions of rupees that came from the United States? If the truth comes out, no one will be left with anything,” she said.
