A press briefing by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, outside Adiala Jail turned chaotic on Monday, with party workers reportedly clashing with journalists.

According to eyewitnesses, the commotion escalated after journalists attempted to ask questions regarding allegations of property purchases using donation funds, previously raised by journalist Tayyab Baloch. The incident followed a similar episode last week when Aleema was targeted with eggs during a press conference.

During Monday’s briefing, party workers allegedly tried to prevent journalists from questioning Aleema. The situation reportedly escalated into pushing and shoving, leaving Baloch as the main target of the altercation. No senior PTI leaders intervened to restrain the workers.

In response, members of the media boycotted Aleema Khan’s briefing, citing concerns over the safety of journalists and the party’s handling of its workers’ misconduct. Authorities said the two women involved in last week’s egg-throwing incident were taken into custody by Rawalpindi police.

The episode drew criticism from across the political spectrum. Lawmakers from both the treasury and opposition condemned the violent acts, calling for political disputes to remain a contest of ideas rather than personal attacks.
