Former Member of the National Assembly Saira Bano, known for her outspoken political views, took a dig at Information Minister Atta Tarar, who stated that the PTI protester, who was pushed off containers was not praying but filming TikTok.

The incident occurred on November 26 during the PTI protest in Islamabad when a protester was reportedly praying on top of 25-foot containers.

A security personnel violently pushed him off, resulting in severe injuries, including fractures in his arms.

Pictures and videos of the incident went viral, showing the man in prayer.

However, Information Minister Atta Tarar dismissed the claim, alleging that the protester was not praying but filming a TikTok video. Tarar also accused PTI of spreading fake videos as part of its propaganda.

In response, Saira Bano took to X to criticise Tarar's remarks, stating, “Then the entire Punjab government, including the IG, should be thrown down from a helicopter. They make TikToks 24 hours a day.”

The injured PTI  worker was identified as Tahir Abbas, however he went missing for two days, according to his brother Naveed. Tahir's father has also been arrested along with other relatives.

Following the incident, Tahir was believed to have died, but a day later, a photo surfaced on social media confirming he was alive but injured.

His brother, Naveed shared a video on social media and called for the immediate release of his brother, 70-year-old father and other detained family members.

"They are interrogating family members about Naveed's whereabouts," he said, adding, "This is brutality" adding that his brother was "almost killed" and now his family is being "tortured."

Naveed pleaded with the authorities to release Tahira and other family members "for the sake of humanity."
