The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will convene today in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal moon, with Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presiding over the session.

Meanwhile, provincial Ruet-e-Hilal committees will hold meetings in their respective regions.

According to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO), the Shawwal moon was formed yesterday at 3:58 PM PST. By sunset today, the moon’s age will be approximately 27 hours, increasing the likelihood of its visibility across Pakistan.

While the Bohra community in Pakistan is already celebrating Eid today, Awami National Party (ANP) leader Aimal Wali Khan has also announced Eid celebrations on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Eidul Fitr is being observed today in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and several other Gulf countries, while in the UK, Canada, and parts of Europe, Eid is expected to be celebrated on March 31.
