As the chilly weather continues to grip the province, the Sindh Education Department has taken proactive measures to ensure the well-being of students and staff by adjusting the working hours of educational institutions across the province.
According to the latest announcement, schools across Sindh will now open at 8:30 am, effective until January 31.
"With the approval of competent authority in view of the prevailing waves of severe cold in the province, all the government and private educational institutions under the administrative control of School Education and Literary Department shall function from 8:30am," the notification issued by the education department said.
"The said timings shall remain operative 31st, January, 2024," it added.
The directives came after a 10-day winter vacation in schools across the Sindh.
Public and private schools will commence their new academic year on April 15. Colleges, on the other hand, are set to commence their new academic year on August 1, 2024.
