Security forces destroyed two explosives-laden vehicles and killed four militants during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district on Thursday, the military’s media wing said.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched on July 30 following reports about the presence of militants allegedly linked to what the military describes as the Indian-sponsored “Fitna al-Hindustan” network.

During the operation, security forces detected and intercepted two vehicles that had allegedly been converted into vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices.

The ISPR said the vehicles were being operated by four militants and could have been used to carry out major terrorist attacks.

Security personnel responded swiftly and destroyed both explosives-laden vehicles, killing the four militants operating them, the statement said.

The military said sanitisation operations were continuing in the area to locate and eliminate any other militants who might be present.

The ISPR said that security forces and law-enforcement agencies would continue counterterrorism operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
