Several parts of Sindh, including Karachi, witnessed a mesmerising Halo in the sky around the sun on Saturday.

Weather analyst Jawad Memon shared pictures of the Halo on his Facebook page, showcasing a multi-coloured circle in the surrounding of the sun.

Memon wrote in the post that the circle was seen at 9:35 pm in Karachi, Hyderabad and other parts of the province.

Halo is a light that passes through ice crystals in the upper atmosphere and shows a circle around the moon and sun.

Experts said that Halo is any of a wide range of atmospheric optical phenomena that result when the sun or moon shines through a thin cloud composed of crystal.

According to them, this phenomenon may be due to the refraction of light that passes through the crystal, indicating rain in the area.
