Shab-e-Meraj: Schools to remain closed tomorrow

The Sindh government has declared January 28 as a public holiday for all educational institutions, both public and private, in observance of Shab-e-Meraj.

The announcement was made through an official notification issued last week.

Shab-e-Meraj, which falls on the 27th of Rajab in the Islamic calendar, commemorates the Holy Prophet’s (PBUH) miraculous night journey and ascension to the heavens.

The occasion is traditionally observed with prayers, religious gatherings, and reflections, and as a mark of respect for its religious significance, schools and colleges remain closed.
