Sharif family members issued 'threat alert' by London police

Members of the family of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif residing in London have received warnings from local law enforcement regarding a 'threat' of a violent attack' from unidentified individuals, as reported by reliable sources based on local intelligence assessments.

According to credible security sources, the West Midlands Police communicated to the London Metropolitan Police about the serious threat directed at the Sharif family. It was noted that this alert was generated by the West Midlands Police through its intelligence monitoring system.

Detectives from Scotland Yard visited the Avenfield apartments to inform the family about the assessed threat level and to provide safety recommendations, as indicated by sources.

The police advised the Sharif family members to remain vigilant and to exercise caution in their activities.

However, the authorities did not disclose the origin of the threat or the identities of those potentially involved. The sources mentioned that the West Midlands Police was cited as the intelligence source.

It is understood that the police assured the family that appropriate measures have been taken to address the threat.

Two weeks prior, activist Gulfam Hussain was apprehended by Scotland Yard outside the Avenfield flats. He has since been released on bail but is prohibited from approaching the Avenfield property. His arrest was initiated following a complaint from Khurram Butt, a leader of the PML-N Youth Wing in the UK.

Most members of the Sharif family have since relocated to Pakistan and no longer reside in London. Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan in November after spending nearly three years in exile.
