Sindh Senior Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that 80 to 85 percent of construction work on the University Road Red Line BRT corridor has been completed, with full completion expected by September 15.

During his visit to the project site, Memon said traffic flow on University Road is currently smooth despite ongoing works. He added that a fleet of double‑decker buses will arrive in Karachi next month, while 500 electric buses have already been approved.

In addition, he said, pink scooters for women commuters will soon be introduced as part of the provincial government’s transport initiatives.

Memon emphasized that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which he said comes to power through public mandate, has a track record of completing service‑oriented projects. Fuel price analysis

Memon also pointed to broader governance achievements, including the 2.1 million house project, which he described as the largest housing initiative in world history.

He said traffic congestion on the Bhutto Highway, built by the Sindh government, demonstrates the success of provincial infrastructure projects.

On healthcare, Memon claimed Sindh is ahead of other provinces, offering free and modern medical facilities, and pioneering services such as air ambulances, which he said have been operational for years.
