Showers, lightning expected in parts of Karachi today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast scattered showers Karachi, with chances of strong winds and thunder in some localities.
Authorities have advised residents to take precautionary measures, as heavy rain may cause waterlogging in low-lying areas.
According to weather department,Thunderstorms in Karachi and several districts of southeastern Sindh from today will continue through October 3.
A low-pressure system currently lies over India’s Gujarat state and is moving west-northwest. As moist winds from the northeast Arabian Sea sweep into southeastern Sindh, weather conditions are expected to shift over the coming days.
The department said showers are likely in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Khairpur, Tando Allahyar, and Badin, while Hyderabad, Jamshoro, Karachi, Thatta, and Sujawal may also experience rainfall with gusty winds and thunder.
Isolated heavy downpours are expected in parts of Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas, raising the risk of waterlogging in low-lying areas.
