Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has announced a Ramazan relief package worth Rs22 billion, in which the poor segment of society will be given Rs5,000 each family.

The decision was taken in a meeting, chaired by CM Shah on Thursday, attended by Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab, chief secretary, principal secretary, and IG Sindh.

Instead of announcing any subsidy for grocery items, the CM decided to give Rs5,000 cash to 4,500,000 families with a minimum wage of Rs 32,000 to 34,000.

As per the details, this amount would be shared with the needy people via bank accounts.

CM Murad directed deputy commissioners to take strict action against the hoarders during the fasting month.

He also ordered to set up a complaint cell in the CM House to deal with the issues related to the price control committee.

The meeting decided that the Sindh Zakat Department would disburse Rs14,000 to 110,000 families.

The CM directed K-electric, HESCO, and SEPCO to ensure electricity supply during the holy month.
