Sindh govt notifies revised school hours in province

The Sindh government has reduced school hours by one hour across the province, with the new timings taking effect immediately.

According to a notification issued by the School Education and Literacy Department on Wednesday, schools will continue to operate five days a week, from Monday to Friday.

The department directed heads of educational institutions and field officers to ensure that the revised timings are implemented.

The new schedule will remain in place until further orders, the department spokesperson said.

The decision comes weeks after the provincial government restored Saturday as a weekly holiday for educational institutions across Sindh.

At the time, the education department had said the additional teaching hour would help schools maintain academic activities and complete the curriculum despite the five-day working week.
