Sindh govt to hand over 100 schools to NGOs to improve education quality

The Sindh government has decided to hand over 100 public-run schools to non-governmental organisations to improve the quality of education and to provide better facilities to the children.
The decision was taken by the former caretaker eductaion minister, under which 60 dilapidated government schools in Karachi and 40 in other districts of Sindh will be given to the social entities.
The statement issued by the Sindh Education Ministry stated that the biggest NGOs of the province will take charge of the schools to make them better.
Earlier, the Sindh government had inked contracts to get services from 20 renowned NGOs for running 34 newly established schools for providing free education to all classes up to class tenth in English medium.
The schools were established in 19 districts of Sindh under the People’s School Programme of the provincial government.
Students of Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Khairpur, Qambar Shahdadkot, Thatta, Sujawal, Badin, Jamshoro, Umarkot, Naushahro Feroze, Karachi, Hyderabad, Matiari, Kotri, Jamshoro, Mirpur Methelo, and Tando Muhammad Khan are being facilitated by the NGOs-run schools.
