Spanish authorities arrested two high-profile suspects wanted by Pakistan in connection with terrorism, murder, abduction for ransom, and other serious crimes, following the issuance of red notice by Interpol.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior, the suspects, Nawazish Ali Hanjrah and Haroon Iqbal, had long been on Pakistan’s most-wanted list for their involvement in multiple heinous offenses.
Their arrest marks a breakthrough in Pakistan’s efforts to bring fugitives to justice.
The ministry’s spokesperson said the arrests came after a recent diplomatic engagement between Pakistan and Spain.
